[00:00:18] [SPEAKER_00]: according to people familiar with the matter.

[00:00:20] [SPEAKER_00]: The hacking campaign, known as Salt Typhoon by investigators, took place in recent

[00:00:26] [SPEAKER_00]: months and is the latest in a series of intrusions in decor U.S. infrastructure by entities tied

[00:00:32] [SPEAKER_00]: to Beijing.

[00:00:34] [SPEAKER_00]: Investigators are exploring whether the hackers gained access to Cisco Systems' routers,

[00:00:39] [SPEAKER_00]: people familiar with the matter say.

[00:00:41] [SPEAKER_00]: A Cisco spokeswoman said there is no indication at this time that Cisco routers are involved

[00:00:46] [SPEAKER_00]: in the activity.

[00:00:47] [SPEAKER_00]: China has routinely denied allegations that it relies on hackers to break into foreign

[00:00:51] [SPEAKER_00]: government and business computer networks.

[00:00:54] [SPEAKER_00]: The Chinese embassy in Washington didn't respond to a request for comment.

[00:00:59] [SPEAKER_00]: OpenAI's Chief Technology Officer Mira Murati says she has resigned.

[00:01:04] [SPEAKER_00]: She was one of CEO Sam Altman's top deputies and handled a lot of the day-to-day management

[00:01:09] [SPEAKER_00]: current and former employees say.

[00:01:11] [SPEAKER_00]: This is the latest in a string of departures by top executives at the chat GPT maker.

[00:01:16] [SPEAKER_00]: It comes as OpenAI is attempting to close a funding round worth up to $6.5 billion.

[00:01:22] [SPEAKER_00]: We've previously reported the startup is in talks to get funding from Microsoft, Apple

[00:01:27] [SPEAKER_00]: and others.

[00:01:28] [SPEAKER_00]: News Corp. owner of The Wall Street Journal has a content licensing partnership with OpenAI.

[00:01:34] [SPEAKER_00]: And Google says it's filed a formal complaint against Microsoft with the European Union's

[00:01:39] [SPEAKER_00]: top antitrust regulator.

[00:01:41] [SPEAKER_00]: Google is accusing Microsoft of abusing its dominance in enterprise software to push

[00:01:46] [SPEAKER_00]: businesses to use its cloud platform Azure.

[00:01:49] [SPEAKER_00]: The move escalates a long running dispute between the tech giants over the cloud computing business.

[00:01:54] [SPEAKER_00]: Google has long trailed Microsoft and Amazon in the cloud business.

[00:01:58] [SPEAKER_00]: Google executives say it's important to address this issue now because in the coming years

[00:02:02] [SPEAKER_00]: many companies will have increasing cloud needs.

[00:02:06] [SPEAKER_00]: Microsoft says it's settled similar concerns with European cloud providers and expected

[00:02:11] [SPEAKER_00]: that Google's complaint would quote, fail to persuade European regulators.
