TNB Tech Minute: Flight-Tracking Platform Sues Kalshi Over Flight Cancellation Bets

Flight-Tracking Platform FlightAware is suing Kalshi, alleging the prediction market company is using its data without permission to let users bet on flight cancellations. According to a complaint filed Monday, FlightAware says such bets could incentivize unsafe tactics to impact cancellations

[00:00:26] and create the potential for massive disruption of air travel. FlightAware claimed in the suit that it had sent Kalshi's cease and desist letters to no avail. Kalshi didn't immediately respond to a request for comment. Rocket Lab's Neutron vehicle may not be ready to launch this year. The company said today it's planning to deliver the first Neutron rocket to a launch pad in the last quarter of 2026. In May, the company said it was in position to debut the rocket this year.

[00:00:55] Neutron has faced delays before. Rocket Lab has been developing the spacecraft, which features a reusable booster to compete with SpaceX's Falcon 9 and other similar rockets. And OpenAI's Brad Lightcap is stepping down. Lightcap joined the company in 2018 and served as COO for several years before changing over to a role overseeing special projects in the spring. He announced his exit to staff in a note stating he's leaving to, quote, start something new.

[00:01:25] Lightcap's exit is the latest high-profile departure from OpenAI. The company's second-ranking executive, product and business chief Fiji Cmo said she was stepping aside last month after going on medical leave.
