[00:00:23] [SPEAKER_00]: A judge has ordered Google to make it easier for developers of mobile app stores to compete on devices that use the company's Android software.
[00:00:32] [SPEAKER_00]: The injunction, which takes effect next month, is the result of Google losing an antitrust case brought by Epic Games during a jury trial last year.
[00:00:42] [SPEAKER_00]: Epic, the maker of Fortnite, operates its own app store and argued that Google used its power over Android to take excessive profits from app developers through its Play Store. Google has said it plans to appeal the ruling.
[00:00:56] [SPEAKER_00]: The former CEO of Intel has landed a new job.
[00:01:00] [SPEAKER_00]: Brian Krizanich will become the new head of Serents, a company that develops artificial intelligence software for the automotive industry.
[00:01:08] [SPEAKER_00]: Krizanich ran Intel from 2013 to 2018.
[00:01:12] [SPEAKER_00]: He resigned for violating company policy by having a relationship with a co-worker.
[00:01:17] [SPEAKER_00]: Krizanich headed the software firm CDK Global from 2018 to 2022.
[00:01:23] [SPEAKER_00]: And beleaguered French IT group Atos says it made a new proposal to sell its computing and cybersecurity assets to the French government,
[00:01:32] [SPEAKER_00]: after an initial round of talks between the two ended without an agreement.
[00:01:36] [SPEAKER_00]: In June, France offered Atos 700 million euros, around $768 million for the group's advanced computing, mission-critical systems,
[00:01:47] [SPEAKER_00]: and cybersecurity activities within Atos' big data and security arm.
[00:01:52] [SPEAKER_00]: The offer underscores France's efforts to prevent the collapse of a company that provides services to governments,
[00:01:58] [SPEAKER_00]: homeland security, and defense clients.
[00:02:00] [SPEAKER_00]: But the offer expired last week without an agreement.
[00:02:04] [SPEAKER_00]: Atos says any potential sale to the French state would be subject to approval by a commercial court.
